A Memoir of Convergence

"What a strange confluence, I thought, this life was. My beautiful young mother; her ashes beside me in the next seat— now gone; Xica, Buzz Aldrin, Jonas Salk, Dreams of trips to Mars, Spider caves, Spider Dreams, Cave of Forgotten dreams, the tiny skull of little Joanna nestled in the palm of my hand, "My Touch...will be the Last", Dilena's sacrifice, the oppressive claustrophobia of a Slave breeding farm. All these Worlds, these disparate worlds, were All colliding and converging within me; all spinning into the present moment of who I now was. I had been led into all these Worlds as an immigrant and as a Journalist--the Famous and the Obscure-- I had absorbed all of them within me; they had all funneled in from an asphalt highway that had led my family and I away from the simple nourishing world of my youth. All these worlds within me spinning into the Outer Cosmos of New Worlds with all their complexities. It was not just one "New World"; it was a Cacophony and convergence of Worlds."
